Julie Devonald MBACP (Registered), MA Counselling

I am an integrative counsellor, which means we would work together to find the best way for you to move forward. Just as each client is unique, therapy is tailored accordingly, but could include teaching you mindfulness, using CBT, examining family dynamics or looking back at your childhood.

Issues I have worked with in the past include:

  • depression
  • suicidal ideation
  • anxiety
  • stress (work and exam)
  • bereavement
  • childhood trauma/abuse
  • illness
  • relationship problems
  • agoraphobia
  • anger
  • bullying
  • troubling thoughts
  • loss of job
  • confidence issues and low self esteem
  • relationship breakups.

I have worked with both adults and children and have an enhanced DBS.

Cost of counselling is £45 a session (reduced rates available for those on a low income). The initial session would be £25, and we would check that I am the right counsellor for you.

I am a fully qualified counsellor,  gaining my MA in counselling from the University of Manchester (with distinction and the Platt prize) and have further qualifications in teaching mindfulness and using emotional freedom technique (EFT), which involves tapping acupuncture points. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), which means that I am bound by their ethical framework and attend regular supervision to ensure best practice.

It’s a big step to come for counselling but I hope to make this step feel as comfortable and safe as possible.
